Loon Cove Inn
A lakeside inn in the Maine woods, with eight guest rooms, a fireside tavern, and a dock that has welcomed guests since 1928.
Eight rooms on the cove.
Wide pine floors, a good bed under a wool blanket, and a window full of lake. The inn was built in the 1920s and has been updated with care, never modernized out of its character.

Unhurried, start to finish.

Coffee on the screened porch while the mist lifts off the water.

A canoe from the dock, and the whole length of the lake to explore.

Dinner on the porch as the sun drops behind the far shore.

A chair by the stone hearth, and the loons calling across the cove.
The village at the end of the road.
A general store with doughnuts by seven, a white church, and a public landing. Everything in Alder Point is a short walk from the inn.
